We successfully sold our lovely RV in Long Beach late January 2009, and spent 5 weeks travelling down through Central America. So far we have travelled through Malaysia, India, England, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Canada and the USA, Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala and Belize and have been on the road for over a year! yackieworldtraveller.com is a travel based website, bringing to life our global journey, and promoting all the diverse ways in which we can travel this earth. With the help of Yackie Mobile, we will fly, drive, sail, train, camel and horse ride, bike and bus our way accross the many different landscapes that welcome us.

Yackie Mobile is the company behind our dream, they provide global roaming GSM sim cards that we have found to be the best option for mobile contact when moving between countries. When you buy a Yackie card, you get a mobile number that can be called in over 150 countries worldwide, as well as this, you can choose a “local” number from any region in the world that enables people who live in that region to call you for even cheaper! For example, we are from Brisbane Australia, so we chose a local brisbane number to be assigned to our Yackie Sim and now when our family calls us using that number, it costs them less than normal. We have found areas in the world where we could not get any signal (who are we kidding, if we drive 3 hours away from home we often don’t get any signal with our local providers!) but overall the Yackie Sim Card has been great.

When we were trying to arrange with different friends in Eugene to stay with them while we looked for our RV, we were able to make and receive calls while on the move. This helped us with what has proved to be the biggest part of our trip so far, finding and buying our beautiful RV!

Without the help of Yackie and the use of their service, not only would our travels have been much harder, but contact with anyone would be limited to internet cafes and public phone booths!
